Chuanshan Hill Park - Guilin

Situated south of the city and on the east bank of Li River, Chuanshan Hill Park covers an area of 2 square kilometers with the Chuanshan Hill as the axis. It faces Elephant-trunk Hill across the Li River and stands against the Turtle Hill on the west bank. Two hills look like two fighting roosters, hence the name Rooster-fighting Hills. Located across the river from Chuanshan hill is a much smaller hill that has a Ming Dynasty pagoda on the top of it.
The Chuanshan Hill has Moon Cave and Tunnel Cave. Moon Cave is at the middle hillside and looks like a moon. Standing in the cave, tourists will have a spectacular view looking to the north or south. At the bottom of the hill, the Tunnel Cave has the rarely seen scenery besides stalactite.

The park is not in the downtown area and is not as busy as the other parks making it very peaceful and quiet. The hill is pockmarked with caves and covered with bamboos. I like the peacefulness of this park. The park is surrounded on three sides by farms. I am a tea fanatic, and when I have some free time I like to climb Chuanshan Hill with my tea tools and brew tea for myself. Sitting alone on a beautiful mountain, surrounded by bamboo groves and chirping birds is what makes life worth living.
